Windows gadgets though are very small in size and consume very less resources but are very useful to us. Any small sized application software which makes our working on computer pleasurable one and can be installed on windows operating system are called windows gadgets. These are classified into many ways according to their niche. If these are helpful in managing our web based accounts, these are known to belong to email category. With new operating system being launched into market, called windows vista, this provides built in gadgets which are addressed as vista gadgets or sidebar gadgets.  

Windows gadgets are invented in carve of innovation and uniqueness and not for normal use. They get invented due to out of box thinking. A simple instance of desktop gadgets can be some one felt need of small software which can display local temperature of the city from where the user belongs. He or group of people coded it and launched it. This is simplest example of application gadgets. As this has nothing to do with daily routine tasks we perform on computer but are a useful and innovative concept, thus can be addressed as a windows gadgets.
